About the exhibit
Apples to Cider: An Old Industry Takes New Root was produced as a physical exhibit at Albert R. Mann Library, running from June to October of 2018. The exhibit was made in partnership with Dr. Gregory Peck and his student Nathan Wojtyna of the Section of Horticulture in the School of Integrative Plant Science, Cornell College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. In conjunction with the exhibit, Dr. Peck presented the special lecture, "The Modern Emergence of a Historic Drink" which is available on Mann Library's YouTube channel.
Also in conjunction with Apples to Cider, a collaboration between Mann Library, Cornell University Library's Digital Consulting & Production Services, and the Biodiversity Heritage Library has created a new online collection of historical books entitled Pomology: Apples and Cider. The collection provides access to some of the most important legacy literature about apples, orchard management, and cider, gathered from the special collections at Cornell University and other partner institutions within the BHL consortium.
